Whose Am I?

November 23, 2011

A Quest For Truth

If I am the world’s…

I praise and glorify God
With a cursed, filthy tongue.
I play church on Sunday morning
Hung over from the night before.

If I am the world’s…

I care not about morality
But teach strong values publicly.
I speak of family virtues
As I beat my spouse and children.

If I am the world’s…

It feels so good, it must be right
I indulge in my thoughts, I act justified.
I love my money and put on a good show
But contentment and peace I shall never know.

If I am the world’s…

A protector by day I portray
A predator by night I cause strife.
I will help you as a neighbor
And covet your spouse later.

If I am the world’s…

My pride perceives what’s right
A wolf disguised in lamb’s clothing.
I’ll earn your trust then steal your life
You’ll not wonder if Satan is ruling!

If I am the world’s…

My hope – it cannot last
For all of mankind will fail.
Salvation is lost, Heaven forgot
Leaving sin and death to prevail.

You know, I must admit I always pray before publicizing things I write concerning morality, because it’s a sensitive topic. It’s a special blessing then to receive positive support once it’s out there so thank you very much. God’s blessings!
