A Quest For Truth

When struggles are present
Will I remember Your name?
Do I focus on all that eludes
Or trust with unwavering faith?

When tears are shed
And fear rears its head,
Do I foster those thoughts
Or believe You instead?

A little discomfort may be good for the soul
To make me think and help me grow.
But, will I continue to walk in Your ways
Or be tempted by sin and worldly games?

Mistakes will be made, many lessons learned
As I fight to do it on my own accord.
May I realize then MY works are forlorn
For, the fruits of the spirit are heavens reward!

So I pray, I plead, then I beg no more
My faith in You has been restored.
To walk in the flesh, I cannot win
All alone I am carnal sin.

Please Father…
Forgive my lapse in faith
I cling to You my saving grace!

    I Like Mark 9:23,24
23Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.

24And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.

Beautiful…how awesome it is to know that God loves us and is willing to forgive us, even when we don’t deserve it. “All alone I am carnal sin.” very powerful verse.

Thank you Shenine and it’s so wonderful to meet you :) I agree that it’s extremely wonderful ~ the trick for us is to learn how to forgive one another just as graciously. Blessings!

Wonderfully soulful poem to express the doubts we all have about ourselves to be held firmly by His Saving Grace!

Love how you worded that granbee :) It brings to mind that contrary to what I may have been taught (and am still advised at times) I prefer to write in the 1st person, but not because it’s all about me. I do so hoping that when each person reads it, they will be able to relate and personalize it better for themselves. Is it working? =D God Bless!

This makes me think of the many elderly I work with; those who fear the onset of Alzheimer’s. I often tell them, “you may forget the people and things around you, but God will never forget you.”

    Keep the Faith!

What a wonderful thing to tell them my friend ~ don’t ever stop! I worked for many years with hospice and senior care, so I remember times like that too. I can’t think of anything more gracious, loving or complete to tell them than what you are and bless your heart for such a Christ like response :)
