With as many times as we have moved and relocated across country, this has become my favorite signature song. Every single time we pack to leave, I crank this tune and it helps me look forward to whatever new adventure (or case) lays ahead. I do believe however, that this is the last time I will play it for the reasons that I have. This time, I am playing it for the people… and for me.
Anna Kendrick – Cups (Pitch Perfect’s “When I’m Gone”)
Amhrán na gCupán – When I’m gone as Gaeilge
A good friend has told me that I need to let it go – all of it. I am thinking that I already have, but of course, I realize I haven’t. Just as soon as you let one thing go, another can too easily take its place. I am thinking it is an old familiar habit worth breaking. We don’t let things go and forgive the other person because they deserve it – it is not about them. It is all about us. We let go and forgive so it doesn’t destroy who we are, so it doesn’t eat on us or kill us from the inside out, so we don’t become like them living in anger, bitterness, and resentment. We simply do it as a way of loving and taking care of ourselves.
