No Way Out!

December 9, 2013

Have you ever been involved in something only to wish you could find a way out? Perhaps after many vain and desperate attempts you still haven’t succeeded and felt stuck?

Sometimes I think we’re so busy trying to find a way out that we don’t realize when God is telling us to stay in. I don’t know about you, but I can be so stubborn as to stand on the inside of the door, while having a gut instinct that I’m NOT supposed to open it and yet, here I am…

No Way Out

No, wait. This is no good…
Let’s try BOTH feet instead!

Still No Way Out

Ever been there? Is it possible God might want us to learn how to endure and stand under something so it becomes apparent that it is HIS strength which is going to get us through it? Maybe He wants others to see how HIS grace and mercy will help us survive. It is always good when we learn how to ‘rely on’ and ‘trust in Him’ more.

This was right on for me today, especially that illustration. I have been trying to open a door for so long now that has been locked/closed, and I am finally at a point where I feel like ‘giving up’ but what it really will mean is ‘giving up control’ to God and just believing He has kept this door closed for so long for a reason and accepting that it’s not meant to open. This is very hard for me. I don’t want to do this but don’t know what else to do right now. Sorry for rambling, thanks for this post. Have a good day, Jessie.

I know exactly what you’re going through Brian. It can be so frustrating and even consume all of our energy if we let it, but then once we realize what we’ve been doing, it just feels like one of those “duh” moments to me. It can be the simplest thing in the world, but we tend to make it the most difficult only because we are trying to control something we should not or can not. It isn’t easy for me either, but sometimes the only real thing to do is to “let go and let God.” As we know, that doesn’t mean we’re always going to like the process either. In fact, we usually don’t, but that just means we’re growing. May you find contentment and acceptance with whatever you are dealing with as well my friend. My heart and prayers are with you.
