I have struggled with asking for help again. Only because I don’t know how to without also having to explain about the situation. Yet, due to our circumstances, I cannot explain anything (at least not right now.)
Then I realized what a victim’s mentality such thoughts are. While explanations are nice, they are not always necessary or even wise. I’m so used to having to ‘answer to’ someone or ‘explain’ myself or ‘defend’ my actions and choices…
It is simple,
“We really need some extra help right now please.”
Things are not always as they seem and for those of you who have been following this blog, you should be able to recognize the irony in such a statement. I cannot offer explanations at this time, but for everyone who knows me, you know I don’t ask unless it’s beyond my scope and the end of my limits. Once again, I have been reminded that there is often a price to pay for doing what is right. I am also reminded by friends that no one can help (or even knows to) if I don’t ask. So, I am humbly asking.
The picture I’ve chosen here reflects my mentality and personality perfectly… most of the time. We all have our moments of weakness and times of struggle though. The trick is not to lose faith. It means being able to remember, within the midst of our struggles, that with God’s help we can rise above anything!
This is a journey. Sometimes the walk is easy and sometimes it seems unforgivable. Every single step can be considered a blessing though when we learn to view the challenges as stepping-stones, rather than obstacles, which we must overcome on our way to the mountain top.
Sometimes these obstacles trickle by slowly along our path as tiny pebbles. while other times they come crashing down as huge boulders from above. Sure… we can step over the pebbles without breaking a sweat, but sometimes the boulders become deterrents that are so huge, they block our vision and threaten our mere existence. We may even lose sight of the path all together which can make our hike through the wilderness seem impossible to survive.
Therefore, we have a choice with each step we take along our journey. We can either learn to use everything which falls onto our path as a stepping-stone to help reach the top. Or we can allow those very same things to become the stumbling blocks which keep us from getting there.
What does your journey look like…
Will you continue to climb or will you get buried alive?
