My Grown Up Christmas List

Articles, Inspiration

I wish to spend time together
Time that is not rushed,
Or competing with the things of this world.
I wish to be your friend
To talk, to listen, to laugh, to cry
No more arguments or wasted time…
I don’t want to lose the little we have.
I’ve given you my everything
All that I am – all that I can
And I would do it all over again…
But, I’d give you even more.
I pray you will always know
And never question
Just how much I love you
Without condition and for always.
To know how much I value you
As a person
A uniquely beautiful individual
With your own thoughts, perspectives
Ideas and interests.
And to know that I am proud of you
That you are needed
Your most natural gifts and talents are needed.
Your life matters
More than you will ever understand
It matters…
YOU matter!
You can make a difference
You will make a difference
You DO make a difference!
You are a treasure
To the world and to me
Especially to me…
Never believe anyone who tells you any different
Never be around those who make you feel like any less.
You were created with such purpose
Such strength and beauty and wonder!
Never fear being who God created you to be!
Always dream
Never quit dreaming!
Inspire, motivate and help others to dream!
Never take for granted all that you have
And always lend a helping hand
Be discerning, compassionate and empathetic
But use common sense and trust your intuition.
Let go of anger, bitterness and sorrow

Life is too short – don’t worry about tomorrow.
Live for today, as if it’s your last!

Moments are sacred, not to be wasted.
Home will always be a safe haven for you
A place of protection – where you can be you.
Above all… Find Jesus
Make Him your friend
He is the only guaranteed constant in this life
He is our only hope after this life.
If you find romantic Love
May he value, cherish, respect, and love you
At least as much as I do
And may he see you, as God sees you
But, more importantly
May you see yourself this way one day.
Don’t be so quick to grow up
Slow down when you can and enjoy yourself
Take care of yourself
Treat yourself well
For, only then can you take care of others really well.
Remember to laugh
Every single day…
If you can’t find a reason, make one!
Always remember
You are not alone
No matter what
You will never be alone
Even if it feels like it sometimes
And I will never turn you away
I will always be there
So close your eyes
Breathe deeply
And never forget how much I love you
I cherish you
I value you
I honor you.
As my child, who is now a young woman
And as a young woman who will grow old
Thank you for being the greatest blessing of my life
Thank you for being the greatest gift in my life
I will always love you
And love you even more…
“I love you as much as a mother could ever love her child.”
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

To my daughter, my life, my love
Your friend…

Jessie, I can tell you are a very special mother to your daughter and that you would do anything for her. Thanks for letting us have a glimpse into the special love you have for her, your hopes and dreams for her, and how much you want the very best for her life. What a great bond of love you have between you!

Thank you so much Tony :) I’m sure, as is with any parent/teen relationship, we definitely have our ups and downs, but no matter what… That unbreakable bond is there, we are always there for one another, and I have always felt incredibly blessed as a mother. People are always telling us stuff like this, so it’s wonderful to know it comes across to others that way too (especially during the times when we may be struggling ourselves, lol)

Because of where we come from and the way our biological families are, teaching her what unconditional love really means has always been what I’ve strived for the most. Trying to instill morals and values that I never had growing up, exposing to her to opportunities, helping her find and know that she was created with purpose by a loving God…

Well, we always want to give our children what we never had, and to help them achieve and do more. Blessings and hugs my friend and I appreciate your comment!
