There’s something to be said for the unexplained absences we sometimes take. As much as I’d like to say that I was given a sabbatical, we’ll call it a reinforced exploratory leave of absence instead and remember that sometimes, ignorance is bliss.

So, believe it or not, our latest development includes brand new websites which are being built. It means, we are finally able to exchange this wordpress.com platform for wordpress.org so that 3rd parties can buy advertising space. That’s four years in the waiting my friends… YA~HOO!
If you remember, back in the beginning, I tried some things like Word Ads in order to create another stream of revenue, but wasn’t happy with the results, because I didn’t have enough control over the type of ads that were showing up. Therefore, I’m very excited to announce that we’ll finally be able to partner with local businesses, charities, fundraisers, and possibly other websites or individuals that we do believe in.
This means that hopefully, our platform starts to generate more revenue than your awesome donations do. Don’t get me wrong, your the biggest reason I’ve been able to make a living as a writer thus far, and I couldn’t be more grateful for all of your support! But, the idea from the very beginning was that this site would draw enough traffic that I’d earn a residual income from using it’s platform instead, via sales, private ads, affiliate marketing, etc. At some point, it seemed to take a different turn, but that’s been a blessing as well, because it’s led to so much more traveling and speaking than I was ever doing before too.
Welcome to the next stage of life!
People were unbelievably supportive when I first started (and continue to be!) by sending in donations until that could happen, because it takes some time to build. Although, no one (self included) ever thought it’d be 4 years and a hundred different circumstances later! Yet, here we all are my friends… You’ve stuck with us ~ still believing, supporting and encouraging us to live our dreams too!
I’m not positive how this transition takes place yet or how all of these sites will be merging together, but I’ll keep you up to date. The idea is to successfully bring everything under one roof, which may also mean letting go of certain aspects in order to gain more focus, or perhaps even adding new ones.
So, I hope and pray you plan on following us when we move! We’ve made a lot of wonderful friends and great connections within the WordPress family over the last 4 years, and it’d sure be an honor if you made this transition with us, as we finally get to take the next step.
*Please stay tuned, as I may be asking for some directional help too, because we all know self promotion and branding are a b-tch. Therefore, I’ve been looking at taking a completely different approach with the new site(s) and would love to hear your ideas, especially if you’ve been following us since the beginning.
One thing I know for sure is that I won’t be taking anymore long distance counseling sessions. While it’s been an honor and pleasure working with all my clients (plus, an added source of income) it is so much more difficult to maintain, so if I do anything on an individual basis anymore it needs to be local. Otherwise, I’m still available and love to travel for groups or conferences.
I’m also not taking anymore undercover assignments, anywhere. For health reasons, I’m done people and need help making the transition. My time with federal and state agencies is over ~ No more government involvement. I have yet to decide if I’ll be moving into the private sector at all though. So far, I’ve refused to take any cases, as offering PI services is a bit different than what I was doing and quite frankly, seems kind of boring in comparison. I don’t want to feel like I’m going backwards… I rather just move on. After all, I never sought out this line of work to begin with ~ It found me.

Check out this young lady… Miss Brie getting her practice on! As a FT Law Enforcement Major plus working FT, she’s doing very well and figuring things out for herself. I absolutely love her reaction in the video after firing her first (undressed) .556 Assault Rifle.
