The Success Principles 10 Day Transformation with Jack Canfield

Recently, I came upon a free workshop called, “The Success Principles 10 Day Challenge with Jack Canfield. For those of you who don’t know, he’s the co-author of all the “Chicken Soup for the Soul” books, which have sold over 500 MILLION copies so far! His success doesn’t stop there though, because he’s also a very well-known motivational speaker, seminar leader, corporate trainer, and entrepreneur.

I believe Anthony (Tony) Robbins said it best
when teaching about how we can achieve success for ourselves…

Anthony Robins Quote

It’s a concept I’ve believed in ever since first being introduced to his books and programs, way back when. I’ve always been big into self-help and self-improvement things (books, workbooks, lesson plans, audio, etc.) but I’ve never dove head first into any kind of transformational program or anything before. Therefore, I’ve got a plan! I’m going to take this 10 day challenge with Jack and all of you, while trying to figure out how to buy his main program for authors and speakers, that I’ll tell you about in a minute. But first, let’s get started with today’s lesson!

DAY 1 ~ Intro.

So, the first video of this series was only a couple of minutes long. I was encouraged to download an excerpt from the book and given 2 exercise to complete:

  1. Read the forward and introduction
  2. Write down 5 things that I’d like to change in my life during the next year.

The entire excerpt is full of inspirational stories and testimonials of people just like you and me who have been inspired and motivated to change their lives, because of the principles this man teaches.

“Somewhere, in the not too distant future, I will write Mr. Canfield a letter of my own,
in which to describe the gratitude and appreciation I feel for the success I’ll also be achieving,
because of his work.” ~Miss Jessie Jeanine

Write down the 5 things I’d like to change in my life during the next year.

Hmmm… Now, that doesn’t sound too hard does it?
Umm… Wrong!

After realizing that I was thinking about how it would  just be easier to list ONE thing instead… And how that one item would be, “EVERYTHING” I have to admit, it seemed a little depressing. But, realizing I had dipped my toes back in the pity pot, because honestly there’s SO much to be grateful for, this is what I came up with instead:

The 5 Things I Will Change This Year

  1. My quality of life ~ To focus on living each and every day with intent and purpose, joy and happiness, there by minimizing or eliminating stress and improving my health as well.
  2. Improve my self-esteem ~ Quit negative self talk, doubt, whining, enabling. Learn to believe in my dreams again by developing expectations of success in all areas of life. Be positive/think positive, gain confidence, so I can grow as a leader. Accept that it’s OK, even necessary to take care of myself first for once.
  3. To finish writing my book. The hell with that… I want it written and PUBLISHED this year!
  4. To start and lead at least one local group of my own, and to be speaking regularly as a main source of revenue, having learned how to negotiate fees.
  5. To be making enough financially again that I’m not struggling to keep the roof over our heads every month or food on the table ~ basic necessities like a new car, a better place to live (that doesn’t make us sick or keep us tired all the time), health insurance, dental and vision. (Yes, I have a minimum in mind to start with ~ No, don’t ask me what it is.)

I love the idea that Jack’s studied many of the greatest and most successful minds, then put the best of all those principles together into one package. Something I’m sure most of us think about or try to do regularly, as we sift through the barrage of material and influences in our daily lives, but I really appreciate compilations like this ~ To have so much of something right at my fingertips.

The greatest hope I took away from the introduction is the idea that:

So, that was today’s lesson and it felt good to get started, but now let me tell you about what else I found. Actually, I discovered this next program first and it got me so excited that I began researching everything I could get my hands on, and that’s when I came across the 10 day challenge. I figured it’s all good though and you gotta start somewhere, right?

Meet My New Found Must Have!

The Bestseller Blueprint System

The Bestseller Blueprint System

So, I’ve already been excited about being able to change this website over soon and getting things moving again that way, but now I feel SUPER charged! In researching the direction of our new site/business, I came across this Bestseller Blueprint system by Jack Canfield and Steve Harrison. I’m telling ya… It did something for me people! After watching all the demo videos, I got so inspired that I’ve started writing my book again and somehow, various things I had been pondering concerning business decisions finally started coming together with some real intent and clarity, so I absolutely HAVE to find a way to get this program!

Do you realize it’s been 4 years since I started this journey? FOUR YEARS PEOPLE!! That seems absolutely insane! I should have a whole frick’en LIBRARY out by now! Well, at any rate, this program is my new plan :) It offers authors and speakers a blueprint to succeed and I want to do it! After all, isn’t that exactly what I’ve been seeking and requesting help with? By golly, George… YES it is! Hallelujah people! It feels like my prayers have been answered (of course, I still have to afford it somehow!) You know when you just know in your spirit… in your soul… that you were meant to do something specific? Well, it felt like the flood gates opened and that’s what washed over me ~ So much in fact, that it damn near drown me. Sure, I’ve looked at quite a few things like this before, attended hundreds of seminars, and been approached by some wonderful people on LinkedIn, but nothing has ever gotten my attention or grabbed a hold of me like this, to where I’ve wanted to invest my everything into it, so that’s why I know, that I know, that I know, that I know… Ya know?

One prayer

OK, Back to Work People!

In the meantime, if you’d like to sign up for this totally free, 10 day course to start things off with and join me in discussion, you can find it here: The Success Principles 10 Day Transformation with Jack Canfield I’m going to blog about every lesson although, there might be a day or two in between, as I get them posted here. And no, I am not getting paid to promote his program in any way… At least not yet, lol! But when you find something worthwhile that gets you super stoked, you want to share it with friends and colleagues, so that’s what I’m doing. It’s just another part of this crazy journey that I’ve decided to share, so I hope you’ll come along for the ride! Besides, it’ll be nice to write with a purpose again :)

5 things to change in my life…hmm, the wishful thinking vs. the practical approach…
Category 1: lose 10 pounds by next week; my children’s health problems are gone overnight; my house is redecorated/has the new furniture I want (no expense or delivery necessary!); my book is finished; my marriage issues have progressed.
Category 2: Lose a few pounds. Pray for our health concerns. Enjoy going to the store to pick out the new household items! :) Suck up the fear and finish my book. Through the hard work we’ve been making at communicating better lately, my marriage issues will have made some progress.
Success is often in the eye of the beholder, and so is the road to reaching it. Good luck with your goals!!

I believe we have the power and ability to achieve our dreams, regardless of what life throws our way. That’s the whole point of exercises like this, which can help us change negative thinking patterns into positive and empowering ones. It isn’t about ‘wishful thinking’ and ‘practical approaches’ my friend ~ It’s about ‘believing’ and ‘taking action’. You’re right… It is to each his own and held in the eye of the beholder, AS IS the CHOICE to get there. No one else can do that for us. Good luck to you as well!

Yes, when we learn to live our lives with passion and aren’t afraid to show it ~ when we’re genuine ~ it draws people in. Thanks for following along and we’d love to have you join in!
