About

Purpose, Passion & Progress

Survive, Rise & Thrive!

Our purpose is to survive it, our passion is to rise above it,

and progress happens when we thrive in spite of it.

We survive hell, live life and give hope!

Purpose… This site is created by a survivor of abuse, for survivors of abuse. If sharing my pain can help you to survive yours, then it will fulfill one of its many purposes. There are four types of abuse and I have survived all of them including: childhood abuse, emotional abuse, physical abuse, sexual abuse, spouse abuse, religious abuse, criminal abuse, self-abuse, and if that weren’t enough… being kidnapped and tortured.

Passion… To help “victims” realize that they are “survivors” by teaching that we have to voice it, to survive it. This can be achieved in many different ways though, not just verbally, as safety is always our most important concern and each of us posses our own unique forms of expression. The mere act of a victim choosing to break the silence means that they are choosing to take back that very powerful control which the perpetrator has had over them, usually long after the violation has taken place.

Progress… Comes when we rise above ourselves and thrive in spite of circumstances, in order to reach out and help others. When we choose to support one another, we develop hope and courage to conquer our own fears and in return, can give hope and help to others. We replace the cycle of abuse with the cycle of survival.

My Invitation To You…

I invite you to join me on a journey of faith as I write about the many trials and tribulations of my life. Then read my poetry to witness a little of the good God can create out of such evil. You can  also check out my photography and the “Books of Hope” I create (coming soon!) Finally friends, I look forward to your comments and the opportunities to share and grow in Christ love together. May the testimony I give be helpful and inspirational, offering something of value to those of you who wish to be involved!
