I comment little but like some more – depends if the subject interests me.

Hey there, I like this post! I’ve just found your blog via osarobohenry’s reblog… For my own sanity, I never “like” anything until I’ve actually read it! :) ♥ <3
October 9, 2015 at 5:51 pm
Thanks so much for stopping by and checking things out ~ It’s great to have you here! I’ll take a look at your site as well and appreciate the comment :)
October 9, 2015 at 8:33 pm
Great! We’ll be seeing each other again soon, then :) ♥ <3

I know it is important to listen to the voice of others. I don’t “like” if I don’t read it. I may read it and NOT like it. That said, as a blogger I want to show the same respect I would want to those who are taking the time to share their thoughts. In response to your other blog regarding comments and replies, I try to reply to each one – and I will block someone who is rude, vulgar or angry. My first week as a blogger 2 years ago I had a comment from someone who accused me of believing in some “imaginary dude in the sky”..(God)
That was about the nicest thing he said – in that case I wanted to show some of his points so I actually edited his comments and then replied to them with way too long of an answer ;).
Though there are no actual rules to blogger edicate, I do think the “golden rule” should apply – that is being honest and respectful and considerate of someone’s difference in opinion! Thanks for the query and the opportunity to answer!
October 2, 2015 at 6:07 pm
I’m laughing, because I love how you handled that, lol ~ Just edit his comment then lay it on thick :) If that doesn’t send a message, I don’t know what will! And I agree with the Golden Rule as well. Thanks so much for your comment!

Yes, I read all the blogs I click like too, I enjoy your creative spirit and I really like the joy and strength your photo radiates. Keep my vision and person upon your alter when you pray as I intend to do for you. Make every day a blessing 😉
October 6, 2014 at 5:07 am
like ;)
October 4, 2014 at 11:54 pm
Well, that was easy… ;-) And thanks for stopping by my blog too. Be blessed!
September 26, 2014 at 9:34 pm
I read several of your blogs. Keep them coming!
September 17, 2014 at 11:58 am
Like other comments posted here, I will sometimes press like without reading the entire blog post, especially if it’s too long. But I usually do this for bloggers I’ve been following for some time…just to let them know that I like what they’re doing… that I’m still following and support them. Although my comments tend to be short, I do often comment. One thing i always do when I do comment is also press the like button.
September 15, 2014 at 2:39 am
I don’t like anything that I don’t read. I don’t know, I just think it feels dishonest.
September 15, 2014 at 3:10 am
But I have liked things I haven’t read completely. If a blog is super long I have been known to skim sections of it. And I don’t like everything I read, only the things I ‘like.’
September 15, 2014 at 3:13 am
Very much agreed Emily ~ there are just so many great writers out there! ;)
September 15, 2014 at 3:16 am
You mentioned your websites in other articles but I don’t see any links to them?
September 15, 2014 at 3:38 am
Oh my, thank you Emily! I forgot I deleted the tabs and haven’t added the links to my sidebar yet (been redoing several things.) There are two more: Life Inspired Photography and what is becoming the daily PhotoBlog You can also find me on twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, LinkedIn, Google Plus, and most recently Instagram. Thanks so much for asking :)
September 13, 2014 at 9:10 pm
Hi Jessie, I always do! You got a voice… Blessings!
September 14, 2014 at 1:54 am
Thank you Walter and blessings to you as well!
September 12, 2014 at 11:51 pm
do i get a cinnabon roll for reading :)
September 11, 2014 at 10:45 pm
Hi Jesse, this is the 2nd time I have “dropped by” your blog, through my WordPress Reader section Of “You May Like”. I found your question very interesting. I personally do read the written part of the blog, before I will click “like”, and if I “like” what I have read, I will click “like”.
With my blog, I don’t have a whole lot of traffic, and if someone clicks “like”, I am “over the moon”, thinking, “Wow, someone has read my blog, and liked it”. :) Always assumed, a “like” would come after reading the blog. Just the way I guess I have been brought up to take others at their word. Just as you mentioned in your previous blog on the Pastor who did not keep his word, it has happened to me numerous times, but with the Lord’s strength we continue to move on.
You do have an incredible ministry Jesse, and am now a “follower” :)
September 11, 2014 at 11:20 pm
Hello and welcome! I know what you mean about the excitement (which I still get) every time someone interacts with our blogs. Personally, I am giddy like a school girl when someone ‘shares’ something of mine still :) I always just assumed too that if people ‘liked’ it, that meant they ‘read’ it as well. It wasn’t until I was following (and reading) more than a hundred blogs a day that I began scratching my head, and wondering how people could keep up with it like that, lol! Anyways, thank you for the compliment and many blessings to you new friend.
September 11, 2014 at 1:44 pm
I read ’em Jessie, have a good day!
September 11, 2014 at 10:19 pm
You too Brian and thanks!
September 11, 2014 at 9:08 am
You bet I read the posts Jessie, but since it’s often on a mobile device (and I don’t type to well on a cell phone) I often don’t have an easy way to leave comments. I also admire that you asked this question since it’s sure something I have wondered on my own blogs. Please keep on posting!
September 11, 2014 at 10:58 pm
Hi Rick! Thanks so much and I struggle with trying to do anything like that on my phone too. Call me old fashion, but I still use my laptop most of the time. Blessings to you :)
September 11, 2014 at 3:35 am
I do read your posts, too, Jessie, but I’m finding that it’s all about time. If people only have time to “like” my posts, then that’s fine..I love to leave comments, but sometimes I don’t have time and I just want to visit as many blogs as I can in that one given moment of blog reading time. :) I have a feeling most can relate, too.
I just read your comment about you commenting and liking when you visit other blogs. Basically, it all revolves around time. I’m okay with likes, but I love comments. I love to receive feedback, but if anyone takes the time to even skim my post and like it, then I’m happy and humbled.
The other issue I have is longer posts. Mine are easy; poems or photos, they don’t take long to read. When I come across others whose posts are much longer, I honestly don’t have the time, so I may skim through it. We all have our lives and routines. I have my husband, two kids, a dog, my job, friends, etc. so blogging comes in last even though it’s what I really enjoy.
So I think we shouldn’t judge and just let everyone do what works for them and hope that we’re making some kind of impact with our writing and posting, even if it may be a small amount.
I hope all this makes sense and see? I do the same thing, Jessie, I LOVE to talk, so I’m more inclined to go into too much detail and now look at my comment. I’m using up too much of your time! :) Well, I think I made up for any likes in the past. :) Hugs and blessings to you!
September 11, 2014 at 11:35 pm
Hello Lauren! You got me laughing, that’s for sure :) LOVE the long comment and all the TIME it took to read it, lol! We’re on the same page my friend and it really does boil down to a time thing, so no judgement here. I just thought it’d be interesting to see how many responses this might get and it’s been a wonderful surprise. I haven’t had so much traffic generated since posting Kidnapped, so it’s just interesting to see what people respond to sometimes. The WP blogging community has been like a life saver in ways, and I’ve been so very blessed making connections here ~ I don’t think I’ll ever stop (regardless of needing the occasional respite that is, lol!) Blessings, hugs and prayers to you and yours <3
September 11, 2014 at 2:16 am
Yes! I definitely read your posts and enjoy them. Please do me a favor … Never Stop ;)
September 11, 2014 at 3:34 am
For so long as I can be one of God’s many scribes… I will ;)
September 11, 2014 at 12:28 am
Hi. I do.
September 11, 2014 at 1:45 am
Thank you!
September 10, 2014 at 6:50 am
Uhm. Hi.
September 10, 2014 at 8:51 am
Hi there! Thanks :)
September 10, 2014 at 6:30 am
Yes I read your posts, I thought everyone that likes a posts reads it first.
September 10, 2014 at 8:55 am
For the most part, you would hope and think they do. However, I think some people might feel obligated to like or follow someone back just because, or as a courtesy I guess (to be nice.)
September 10, 2014 at 1:57 pm
This is exactly what I thought.
September 10, 2014 at 3:32 am
Yes, I actually read the blog post. And I leave a nice comment if I’m really moved to do so.
September 10, 2014 at 4:13 am
Thanks Steven and good to see you again. It’s been too few and far between this year!
September 10, 2014 at 11:39 pm
We’ve both been deluged, it seems, with lots of interruptions. Good to see all your stuff. Still looking for more pictures OF YOU, and want to read more of your stories. Can’t wait!
September 10, 2014 at 2:58 am
Hi :) I don’t like to comment… I don’t know why… it’s kinda weird :)
September 10, 2014 at 4:18 am
I especially appreciate your visit here then :) Thanks!
September 10, 2014 at 2:35 am
Mere clicking ‘like’ hardly serves our purpose. Clicking and gaining from others’ experiences makes difference.
September 10, 2014 at 4:20 am
Agreed. Which goes hand in hand with reading, or at least skimming a post, of course.
September 10, 2014 at 1:16 am
I would like to ask you the same question! Have you ever commented on what I write? I usually read what I like and only then I click ‘Like’.
September 10, 2014 at 4:25 am
Hi there! I appreciate your question, and might refer you to Desiray below, whom I answered regarding the same thing earlier (no need to retype so much.)
September 10, 2014 at 12:35 am
I tend to read all of the blogs I follow when I see them in my reader and as time permits.
Due to an odd work schedule I don’t get to read on a daily basis like many here at WP. I will at least skim an article all the way to the end so I don’t end up liking some distasteful opinion. I’m pretty good about reading but if it’s over 1000 words and on a topic that doesn’t grab me, I’ll just skip that one!
September 10, 2014 at 12:58 am
Thanks for sharing Lilka! :)
September 9, 2014 at 9:34 pm
I subscribe to your blog, so I get your new posts in my email. I do read most of them. But sometimes, when I just want to share the love, I go to my reader and just “like” all the posts in there. :)
September 9, 2014 at 10:05 pm
Thanks so much for subscribing and sharing Kim! :)
September 9, 2014 at 7:52 pm
Good question sis. Now let me ask you that same question. Do you just like and don’t comment
September 9, 2014 at 8:32 pm
Hello sister Desiray! :) While I read and like or share many posts, I suppose I don’t spend much time making comments anymore, but perhaps I should(?) After all, I know how much it encourages me to receive them! I usually want to write too much though and get hung up on how to shorten things, so it takes me forever. Where as, it seems like I can be a lot more supportive of others by sharing through various media outlets. I think it speaks to our individual gifts and how we can best help support and share another’s work while still managing our own. Hugs to you my friend and great question!
September 10, 2014 at 3:12 pm
Your welcome Jessie…I know for me when a person comes and leave me a comment I do my very best to go to their page and leave them a comment. have a bless day
September 9, 2014 at 7:49 pm
Hi! :) never like unless I read! – Rick <3
September 9, 2014 at 7:43 pm
I sometimes do both. If I don’t have the time to read a long article I will skim through it and then click the like button just to let the writer know I visited. If it is something that really catches my attention, I will go back and take the time to read it completely. I’ve been having trouble with the like button though, and then I really have to read what has been written so I can make an educated comment to announce my visit. If I read more than one article at one time on a blog, and can’t click the like button, I will post a short comment on only one of the articles to let the writer know I was there. There have been times when I have come here, and been unable to do either like or comment, so I am hoping this helps. :-)
September 9, 2014 at 8:17 pm
This helps a lot Drusilla ~ thank you. I’ve had some followers contact me on twitter or via email before too with the same complaint ~ saying they can’t get the like button to work, or what’s even more frustrating, is they can’t leave a comment. This seems like a wordpress.com thing, because I’ll have the same problem sometimes as I’m going through blogs as well. It’s almost as if the system can’t keep up or something. I have loved being a part of this community, but will appreciate having a different platform (hopefully some day soon!) where maybe those issue won’t exist and where there’s freedom to have a grocery cart and such for selling books as an author too.
September 9, 2014 at 6:55 pm
I read as often as I can! God bless you!
September 9, 2014 at 7:12 pm
Thanks so much Debbie and I got your other message too on the post “Screwed by a Pastor” but will keep it private because I don’t know that you really want your info. shared in a comment like that. And yes, I’ll contact you via email :) Blessings!
September 9, 2014 at 6:09 pm
Hi Jessie, I do read your blog. I don;t read every time you post because I am following so many bloggers. I try to read several blogs everyday and yours is one of many I turn to.
September 9, 2014 at 6:23 pm
Wow ~ that’s a nice compliment Joseph, so thank you!
September 10, 2014 at 4:12 pm
:)
September 9, 2014 at 6:07 pm
It depends. If the title, lead words or accompanying image entice… I’ll usually read a post. Other times, I’ll simply acknowledge the bloggers effort and ‘like’ the post. I do this with all of the 800+ blogs I follow.
September 9, 2014 at 6:21 pm
Oh my goodness… that’s a LOT of bogs, lol! It gives a much better picture of how important learning some of the basics can be then like you mention here. Sometimes it can be difficult to know what will get the public’s attention more and I used to get so hung up on it. I think I’ve finally relaxed enough though realizing how time consuming that can be. Now I think, people read and share or they don’t – no biggy and leave the rest to God.
September 9, 2014 at 6:07 pm
Since we’ve been connected for so long my friend, I’m going to take that as a compliment…? lol ;)
September 9, 2014 at 6:13 pm
So I thought :) Much appreciated Anthony!
September 9, 2014 at 5:36 pm
Clever idea. I have thought of doing this myself. I have followers who I think might be liking my posts just because they’re grateful for the follow.
September 9, 2014 at 6:05 pm
And I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that either, but I thought it would be interesting to compare the responses I get here to the stats. I realize sometimes I get a LOT of activity and have a lot of followers, but not everyone wants it publicly known that they like, support or follow a blog that can be controversial in any way (such as abuse.) Just like I sometimes don’t get as many comments on an article, but my email will be full! I’ve always found that interesting. It’s all good though :)
September 9, 2014 at 6:09 pm
You make very valid points:) I would rather people read and “not like” than not read and “like” anyways.
September 9, 2014 at 6:18 pm
Thank you and for the most part I feel the same way. In fact when I first started out, I would never think of liking something I didn’t fully read. But, then I began to realize just how many great blogs there are out there and who has the time to read a hundred a week or whatever. Part of me thought I might feel insulted if someone only liked mine without reading it, but I understand it a bit better now doing this for the last couple of years. Of course, it’s always a preference knowing people care enough to read, but it’s not always about that either.
September 9, 2014 at 5:29 pm
I do both. Particularly the posts that are more personal. It helps me to know and understand the writer a little better.
September 9, 2014 at 6:13 pm
That’s about how I am too. If I don’t get the time to read something, but they’re a favorite or personal connection, I’ll just like it anyways, because I know it’s going to be good and I want to help promote and share their work too (I usually save it though and try to make the time to back over it.)
September 9, 2014 at 6:20 pm
This is what I tend to do as well. I don’t always have time to read, but think the subject is important and needs support as well as sharing! God bless you my friend!
September 9, 2014 at 6:25 pm
Very well stated my friend ~ thank you and hugs dear!
September 9, 2014 at 5:15 pm
Hi! I’m new here. . .
September 9, 2014 at 5:22 pm
Hello Susan! I appreciate the visit and a warm welcome to you :)
September 9, 2014 at 5:00 pm
I read blogs. I do not comment. I will not comment after this. Ciao Bella.
September 9, 2014 at 5:21 pm
Well then, I’m honored! Thank you :)
